Snow Sports Plus

One of the biggest concerns for travellers already overseas is what would happen if they became unexpectedly ill or injured overseas.

Fast Cover’s Already Overseas policy options including Comprehensive, Standard Saver and Snow Sports Plus include cover for overseas medical and hospital expenses helping travellers already overseas cover these costs abroad.*

Even with careful planning, travel can be unpredictable. Flights can be delayed, connections missed, or plans changed by severe weather. Those moments can quickly add unexpected costs for extra nights of accommodation, last-minute meals, or rebooked transport, cutting into your budget.

Our Already Overseas policy options including Comprehensive and Snow Sports Plus may provide cover for some of the reasonable additional expenses that come from travel delays, depending on your circumstances and what’s covered under your policy.*

Severe weather, natural disasters, strikes, riots and civil protests could disrupt the course of your trip.

Our Already Overseas policies include the Trip Disruption Expensesbenefit, if you purchase a Comprehensive or Snow Sports Plus policy. This benefit is available to provide cover for the reimbursement of your reasonable additional travel, accommodation and meal expenses which you cannot recover from any other source, if a disruption occurs during your trip which is outside of your control and arises from the reasons covered by your policy and explained in the PDS.*

Lost, stolen or damaged luggage and personal items can create ongoing hassles during your solo adventure. Replacing essentials like your laptop, camera, or travel gear can be costly.

Cover for luggage and personal items is automatically included with all Fast Cover Already Overseas policies.*

Travel plans evolve; you might book a cruise, hire a motorbike, or even decide to try an adventure activity like abseiling. It is important to consider the right cover before starting those activities.

If you are planning higher-risk activities or specific types of travel mid-trip, our Already Overseas policy allows you to select optional extras at the time of purchase, subject to eligibility and policy terms.

This is a summary only and does not cover all situations. Any advice is general only and does not consider your personal circumstances. Read the PDS and TMD to determine whether travel insurance is right for you before buying.

The right travel insurance policy for your trip should match your destination, trip type, and budget. Fast Cover offers several levels of cover for Already Overseas policies so you can choose what fits your journey best, from Standard Saver, to Comprehensive and Snow Sports Plus.

When comparing options, check what’s included and what the benefit limits are for each policy. Understanding the scope of cover can help you find the best travel insurance for your needs.

The type of activities you plan on doing during your trip can impact the level of cover you need. Some travellers are simply sightseeing or relaxing, while others might be heading overseas for adventure like quad biking, hiking at high altitudes, or riding a motorcycle.

When comparing policies, check if they include cover for these activities or allow you to add optional extras to provide cover for these activities. Depending on the policy you choose with Fast Cover, you may be able to add optional extras for an additional premium to provide cover for a wide range of activities and adventures.

Sometimes, even the best-planned trip can take an unexpected turn. Natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions can disrupt travel plans with little notice, leaving travellers stranded, rerouted, and facing unexpected costs for additional travel and accommodation.

Depending on the policy you choose, Fast Cover may be able to help with reasonable additional expenses for accommodation, meals and transport, when your trip delayed or disrupted due to natural disaster in circumstances covered under your policy.*

Are you already overseas on a solo adventure, a family trip during the school holidays or perhaps a romantic cruise getaway?

You may wish to check whether an already overseas policy provides cover for singles, couples and families. Consider how the policy benefits and benefit limits apply to all travellers listed on the Certificate of Insurance.

Getting sick or injured while travelling can be stressful and costly. When comparing already overseas travel insurance policy options, look at the medical benefits included, their limits, and whether 24/7 emergency medical assistance is included. Choosing a policy that offers reliable medical support when you need it most can save you both money and stress during your trip.

All Fast Cover’s international Already Overseas travel insurance option provides unlimited cover for:

  • overseas 24/7 emergency medical assistance

  • overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses

  • overseas emergency medical evacuation and repatriation

in circumstances covered under the policy.*

If an illness, injury, delay, loss or disruption happens before you purchase your Already Overseas policy, it is unlikely to be covered.

Our Already Overseas travel insurance is designed to provide cover for unexpected events that occur after your policy start date and after any applicable waiting period has ended.

Already Overseas policies include a 48-hour waiting period after purchase that applies to all benefits. If an illness, injury, loss or disruption occurs during this waiting period, it is unlikely to be covered.

This means if you purchase a policy today and something happens within the next 48 hours of purchasing the policy, you may not be eligible to claim for that event.

If you’re injured while breaking the law overseas, your Already Overseas travel insurance policy is unlikely to cover the incident. This includes scenarios such as riding a motorcycle without wearing a helmet, driving without the proper licence, or operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Local laws vary significantly between countries and what may be legal in Australia could be prohibited elsewhere so you should always check local regulations before you travel. For example, in some destinations even riding a scooter without the correct international licence is illegal and could leave you without cover if an accident occurs. Engaging in illegal drug use or carrying prohibited substances could also result in both criminal charges overseas and the denial of any related insurance claim.

If you’re injured in an accident while, for example, riding a motorcycle, and you didn’t add the Motorcycle Pack to your Already Overseas travel insurance policy, you may be responsible for paying your overseas medical and hospital expenses because you did not choose to include cover for that under your policy.

It is important to think about what activities you will be participating in so that you have the right cover for the activities you plan to do overseas.

If your belongings are stolen while unattended or unsupervised, you may not be able to claim for the stolen item. For example, if you leave your bag with your wallet and passport inside it on the beach while you go for a swim, this may be considered leaving your belongings unattended, in which case you may not be covered.

Make sure you keep your belongings with you at all times or keep them in a secure location and take reasonable measures to secure them at all times and at all places.

There are exclusions that may apply for regular or routine check-ups or filling regular prescriptions as they are not considered medical emergencies. If you require regular medication, bring enough of what you’ll need for your holiday overseas before you leave Australia.

Should the Australian Government release a warning on the government’s official Smartraveller website that certain areas overseas are no longer safe to travel to and you still choose to travel there anyway, there may be exclusions that might  apply such as if you do not follow advice in the mass media where a travel advisory risk rating of Do Not Travel was issued after policy purchase.

Note: We are unable to offer travel insurance to international destinations that have a Do Not Travel warning on official government Smartraveller website. To check which countries we may cover, enter your destination country in the quote box on our website.

Known events are usually considered as serious situations from natural disasters like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, to disease outbreaks, which can affect your holiday plans and the cover on your travel insurance policy.

If you buy your travel insurance after an event is a known event, the cover on your policy may be affected. You should check for any Travel Alerts that may have been issued for your travel destination as well as information on the government’s official Smartraveller website so you know where you stand with regards to the cover that you will have on your travel insurance policy.

Perhaps the weather was bad, the tourist attractions were too crowded, or your accommodation didn’t live up to the pictures online. Whatever the reason you’re unhappy with how your trip has shaped up, your travel insurance policy is not intended to compensate you because you didn’t enjoy your holiday.
