I want to drive a car on my holiday, can I be covered?
Yes, you are covered if you get injured in an accident while driving a car provided you have a current Australian drivers licence and licence valid for the country you are driving in.
The car itself is not covered, however you can purchase Rental Vehicle Insurance Excess cover as a part of your policy, to cover the excess specified in the rental agreement with your Car Rental company.
Please note that the Basics policy does not provide the option to add cover for Rental Vehicle Insurance excess.
For more information, refer to our Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).
