Why do travellers need the Product Disclosure Statement when purchasing travel insurance?
The PDS outlines everything your policy covers and more so you know exactly where you stand before you travel. For example, this includes unexpected situations like:
Overseas medical emergencies
Lost, delayed or damaged luggage
Trip cancellation
Trip disruption, whether you're continuing your trip or heading home early
Accidental death while travelling
Theft of your credit card, cash or fraudulent use of your card
Just as important, the PDS tells you what you're not covered for. Reading it before you buy means there are no surprises if you need to make a claim.
It is your responsibility to read the PDS and decide whether the policy is right for you. Our PDS is written in plain language with clear "Words with Special Meaning" definitions to make it as easy to understand as possible.
